Abengoa Solar’s first high-temperature power tower installed in Andalusia, Spain is designed to test a new type of receiver that will achieve higher temperatures required for higher-efficiency thermodynamic power cycles. The experimental towers power output capacity is approximately 2 MW. It is part of the Solucar Platform, a solar thermal and PV solar installation complex scheduled for completion in 2013.
