New Age Energy and Long Island Green Power Advisors have submitted a renewable energy proposal to the Town of Riverhead, Long Island to lease 20 acres at the town’s landfill site for the installation of a solar farm to generate 4 MW of solar energy and 4 MW of thermal solar power, along with a 2 MW landfill gas facility. The power would be sold to the Long Island Power Authority. No deal is yet in place. (Source: Times Review, May 28, 2009)
