PR| 2008-12-05: ETC Green has selected the Jeep Grand Cherokee to serve as the company Green Energy Survey Vehicles. The Jeep has a 3.0L Common Rail Diesel engine designed and manufactured by Daimler.
The Jeep runs on biodiesel blends which lowers U.S. dependency on foreign oil and reduces emissions over petroleum only diesel fuel. This Jeep provides the 4WD necessary for off-road surveys and construction and has the towing capacity necessary for hauling trailers for Green Energy asset installations (wind turbines, solar panels, geothermal equipment, …). Even though the vehicle has a powerful 215HP/376lb-torque engine, it runs as smoothly and quietly as most sedans and achieves 26mpg on the highway.
