Raser Technologies Inc. indicates it has qualified for government backed loans to triple the size of a geothermal power plant in the central Utah desert. According to Raser’s chief financial officer, Martin F. Petersen, the U.S. DOE has notified the company that it could be awarded $150 million US in government-backed loan guarantees by late summer. The project would add 46 MW to the company’s existing plant in Beaver County which started commercial operations earlier this year. Refer to our archives for additional project details.
