DC Taxis receive $9M US for propane retrofits

A $9,000,000 ARRA grant will mean cleaner air for Washington, DC. The funding will go towards retrofitting 1,000 taxis to run on propane and construction of several propane fueling stations. Several taxi companies will participate in the program, and Alliance AutoGas will perform the conversions and build the stations. (Source: Cumberland Times News, September 13, 2009).
