ETC Announces European Operations Center

PR| 2011-05-20: The Emerging Technology Corporation (ETC) – Green Division announced today they have completed negotiations and are opening their new European Operations Center in southern Poland. Forests cover 28.8% of Poland’s land area and more than half of the country’s land mass is devoted to agriculture.  Often described as the ‘bread basket of the European Union’, Poland is also the most important breeding ground for European migratory birds and supports higher numbers of species and wildlife populations than any other European nation. These environmental characteristics and use of resources represent a value system that is well matched to that of ETC. The new operations center will increase staff as supply contracts and product sales are developed.  ETC main operations, located in southern Nevada, USA, will make over 400 renewable energy products available through this distribution channel.  Also, Poland has a mandate that all diesel fuel sold must contain 7% biodiesel (B7) today with a ramp-up schedule to 20% (B20) over the coming years.  ETC is planting large scale orchards for the production of biodiesel and will help supply Poland’s growing demand for fuels particularly for their heavy agricultural equipment in the future.  A B20 biodiesel blend reduces harmful emissions by about 18% over petrodiesel only fuel....

Jatropha Orchards for Biofuels

PR| 2010-05-25: The Emerging Technology Corporation (ETC) Green Division has researched varieties of Jatropha trees from 4 continents over the past 2 years to find the best match for the southwest U.S. climate.  The company now has thousands of trees planted for seed stock and sapling nurseries. ETC Green has set a goal of planting 5,000 acres of Jatropha orchards or about 4,000,000 trees over the coming years.  While the rain forests of the world are still being leveled, we are planting new forests to reduce CO2, increase oxygen, stabilize the soils and produce biofuels to reduce US dependency on foreign petroleum.  An acre of Jatropha trees will produce over 400 gallons of biodiesel per year even in an arid climate and the ETC Green spokesman suggested they expect over 1,000 gallons per acre for some of their orchards.  This is in comparison to 50 gallons/acre/year from soy beans in the Midwest US states. ETC Green has Land-Use-Lease agreements in place and is also structuring a Co-Op relationship with additional land owners, businesses and investors who desire a stable, direct and sustainable supply of biodiesel fuel for their vehicles to avoid the uncertainty and risk of the petroleum industry. Over the past year, GM, DoE, Toyota, Dailmer and hundreds of other organizations have embraced and invested in Jatropha Orchards as the most promising source of transportation fuel to replace the dwindling supply of petroleum sourced fuels.  The 2010 DoD Joint Operating Environment (J.O.E.) Report suggests that the world will begin experiencing petroleum shortages within 2 years.  While jatropha is a viable biofuel crop, ETC Green is using this crop...

Baseload Green Power

PR| 2009-12-31: The Emerging Technology Corporation (ETC) Green Division announced today they have committed to the completion of a 1Mw Green Energy baseload power plant in southern Nevada before the end of the 2010 calendar year.  This facility will operate with a zero carbon footprint. The unstable and inconsistent levels of power production from wind and solar resources impacts load balancing of electric utility grids. This same problem is the motivation for the announcement from the state of Nevada’s major public utility, NV Energy, that they will not purchase power from a solar array larger than 30Mw as they lack the technology to handle the power fluctuations caused by a passing cloud. Baseload is the energy industry’s term for continuous, stable energy generation historically sourced from coal and natural gas burning power plants.  ETC Green has partnered with several manufacturers to integrate a combination of solar, wind, biofuels, hydrogen production and storage technologies to demonstrate a solution to this major renewable energy concern. While this initial ETC Green baseload power plant will be 1Mw, plans call for a 10Mw baseload plant within 3 years.  Two of the firm’s current Green Energy Managed Sites (GEMS) will support 10Mw of baseload and 3 of the firm’s GEMS offer the opportunity for over 100Mw of baseload power with current technologies.  The design and planning for much larger baseload power plants will be a major focus for the ETC Green engineers in the...

Hard Assets Acquisition

PR| 2009-08-17: Emerging Technology Corporation (ETC) Green Division announced today they have completed the purchase of the remaining hard assets of a Los Angeles based high efficiency A/C manufacturer & distributor. The hardware includes A/C units capable of running in either off-grid or grid-tie configurations.  The units will run for hours on an internal battery system that may be powered/recharged by solar panels and/or wind turbines.  These A/C units along with other equipment is slated to be installed throughout Nevada and Utah in the coming months.  An estimated 50 tons of equipment has been moved to the ETC Green warehouse in the Henderson, NV area.   ETC Green will install 4 of these 3 ton A/C units on their corporate headquarters building and will power them via a wind turbine and solar panels.  ETC is striving to achieve a zero carbon footprint for company operations within the...

Birth of a Nevada Forest

PR| 2009-07-07:   ETC Green has planted its first Jatropha orchard.  Direct from Zambia, Africa, the seeds have been planted in a nursery and will be moved to a research and seed stock orchard when the saplings reach a height of about 1 meter. Jatropha Curcas grow to a height of 1 meter about 1 month after germination.  These trees will bear fruit and seeds themselves in about 8 months.  ETC Green has also acquired seeds from Australia and Central America for additional research orchards. ETC Green has set a goal of planting 5,000 acres of Jatropha orchards or about 4,000,000 trees over the coming years.  While the rainforests of the world are still being leveled, we are planting new Jatropha forests to reduce CO2, increase oxygen, stabilize the soils and produce bio-oils to reduce US dependency on foreign petroleum.  An acre of Jatropha trees will produce over 400 gallons of biodiesel per...

Survey Vehicle Selected

PR| 2008-12-05: ETC Green has selected the Jeep Grand Cherokee to serve as the company Green Energy Survey Vehicles.  The Jeep has a 3.0L Common Rail Diesel engine designed and manufactured by Daimler. The Jeep runs on biodiesel blends which lowers U.S. dependency on foreign oil and reduces emissions over petroleum only diesel fuel.  This Jeep provides the 4WD necessary for off-road surveys and construction and has the towing capacity necessary for hauling trailers for Green Energy asset installations (wind turbines, solar panels, geothermal equipment, …).  Even though the vehicle has a powerful 215HP/376lb-torque engine, it runs as smoothly and quietly as most sedans and achieves 26mpg on the...
