The Australian Biofuels 2009 Study is pointing to algae as having significant potential advantages over existing biofuel crops. According to report co-author, Ecco Consulting’s Mike Cochran, South Australia has “the right strain of algae with high oil content, good sunlight, water and land, and the intellectual resources.” The study looks at key indicators regarding the Australian biofuels industry focusing on how biofuels fit into the country’s energy mix.
