Redford, Michigan-based Alternative Fuel Technologies, a developer of prototype fuel systems that enables diesel engines to burn dimethyl ether from renewable sources, has received a Phase One test project from the U.S. Army worth about $120,000 US. The project involves durability testing of a high pressure fuel system. After assessment, the company expects to submit a $500,000 Phase Two proposal to redesign the test related system pump to reduce wear, and then build and test a prototype.
